Which live chat tool lets me reply from Slack for a small B2B SaaS?
the short answer
Chatlio, Social Intents, ClearFeed, Pylon, Crisp and teem let a small B2B team answer website chat from Slack. In teem, a chat from someone who left a name and email opens one thread in a channel you pick. A current teammate replies in that thread and the customer sees it in the widget. A Slack reply is text only, and it cannot assign or close the chat. The plan is $49 a month flat for up to five people.
The chat is on your site. The team is in Slack.
A customer writes in the chat on your website. The person who should answer is in Slack, in the middle of something else. Opening a second dashboard to find that chat is how a small team ends up replying late.
When the chat shows up as a Slack thread, the reply is the next message in a channel the team already reads. The customer gets the answer in the widget on your site, and the team does not have to learn another inbox.

how teem does it
How a Slack reply reaches the customer
- An owner connects Slack and invites teem into one channel, public or private. A new chat posts there once the customer has left a name and email. The post names them, says whether that name is verified or self-declared, and links the page they were on.
- A teammate replies in the thread. teem reads their Slack email and accepts the reply only when it matches a current member. The message is saved under that person's name.
- The widget shows the reply while the customer's browser tab is open. If they have not read it after five minutes, teem emails it.
- Later messages from the widget, the inbox, email, the API or MCP are added to the same thread. A message that started in Slack is not posted back into Slack.
- If the customer attached an image, Slack does not get the file. The thread says an image was sent and links to it in teem.
the limits
What a Slack reply in teem cannot do
- It has to be ordinary text in the thread. A file, an image, an emoji-only message, a bot message, or a new message in the channel (not in the thread) is not sent to the customer.
- You cannot assign the conversation or mark it resolved from Slack. Assigning and resolving stay in the inbox, the API or MCP.
- Someone whose Slack email is not a current member gets a private note in Slack, and the customer sees nothing.
- A feature request can be announced in the channel. Replying to that announcement does not reach the customer. Only a conversation thread does.
- If the trial has ended, the reply is not sent. Slack shows a private note saying why.
- New chats stop posting if you turn that notification off. A thread that already exists still receives later messages.
who should pick which
Pick teem, or pick the tool that wins the part you need
Pick teem
if the team already lives in Slack, you want a person writing every reply, and you also want a help center, a voting board and a changelog that emails voters, at one flat price.
Pick Chatlio
if the Slack reply has to carry files and images, or you also answer from Discord or Teams, and you do not need a board or a help center.
Pick Social Intents
if you want an AI chatbot to take the first questions, a choice of a channel or a thread per chat, and a lower price for chat alone.
Pick ClearFeed
if you need to assign and close the ticket from Slack, with SLAs and AI answers, and per-agent or per-ticket pricing fits.
Pick Pylon
if customers already share a Slack channel with you and you want files, a knowledge base and AI agents. The published seat price is higher, and the trial goes through sales.
Pick Crisp
if you want Slack replies without a paid operator seat for every person who types one, plus resolve and private notes from Slack.
Pick Intercom
if customers write to you inside Slack and you want Fin to answer there. Its help center does not describe answering a website Messenger chat from a Slack thread.
Honest pros and cons of teem for this
Pros
- The words the customer reads are the words the teammate typed in the Slack thread.
- One channel and one thread per chat, so the sidebar does not fill with a channel per visitor.
- The same widget holds the help center, the feature board and the changelog. Shipping a request emails the people who voted.
- $49 a month is flat for up to five people. Conversations are not counted.
- A person writes every reply. No bot speaks to the customer.
Cons
- A Slack reply cannot assign the chat, close it, or send a file. Chatlio sends files. ClearFeed assigns and closes from Slack. Crisp resolves from Slack.
- The person replying must already be a teem member with the same email. Crisp does not require an operator account for each Slack replier.
- Chats are not posted until the customer leaves a name and email.
- One channel for the organization. Chatlio and Social Intents can point different widgets at different channels.
- No AI that answers the customer. Social Intents, ClearFeed, Pylon and Intercom do.
- If you only need the Slack reply, other plans start lower: Chatlio Mini is $30 a month and Social Intents Lite is $29. teem is $49 because the help center, the board and the changelog are in it.
- teem launched in late September 2026, so the track record is short.
questions
What people ask about answering chat from Slack.
Which live chat tool lets me reply from Slack for a small B2B SaaS?
Chatlio, Social Intents, ClearFeed, Pylon, Crisp and teem all do. In teem, a chat from someone who left a name and email opens one thread in a channel you choose. A current teammate replies in the thread and the customer sees it in the widget. The reply is text only. teem is $49 a month flat for up to five people, and the same plan includes a help center, a feature board and a changelog.
How can I answer website chat from Slack?
Use a tool that posts each website chat into Slack and sends a thread reply back to the visitor. In teem, an owner connects Slack, invites it to one channel, and a teammate replies in the thread. The widget shows that reply. If the customer has not read it after five minutes, teem emails it.
Does the customer actually receive a reply I type in Slack?
Yes, when it is ordinary text from a current teammate in that conversation's thread. The widget shows it while their browser tab is open, and teem emails it after five minutes if they have not read it. A file, an image, an emoji-only message, a bot, or a reply from someone who is not a member is not sent.
Can I assign or close a chat from Slack?
Not in teem. Assigning and resolving happen in the inbox, the API or MCP. Chatlio's Slack page says commands can end a conversation and that files reach the visitor. ClearFeed's page says you can reply, assign and close from Slack. Crisp's Slack article lists a resolve action. Checked November 4, 2026.
Does Intercom let me reply to website chat from Slack?
Intercom's help center does not describe that. It describes customers who message you in a connected Slack channel, with replies sent from the Intercom inbox back into Slack, plus internal side conversations. A channel set to notifications only does not send Slack replies back. Checked November 4, 2026.
